Michael Boulding is one of the most popular and richest Footballer who was born on February 8, 1976 in Sheffield, England, United Kingdom. Michael Boulding was the son of Mick and Deirdre Boulding. He was born in Sheffield, England on February 8, 1976. Boulding is the brother of Rory (12 years) and has three younger sisters, Sally, Mary and Helen. Boulding was briefly employed by Merlin Estates when he retired from football in 2005. In 2009, the firm was forced to liquidate. Boulding is now living with his brother Rory. He is also a licensed helicopter pilot.

Boulding kept his connections with football. He trained with Doncaster Rovers and joined Hallam in non-league Hallam in 1998, near his Sheffield home. Mansfield Town offered Boulding a trial because of his Hallam form. The Division Three side offered him a contract and he became a professional in 1999. As a late replacement for Gary Tallon in the League Cup match against Nottingham Forest, he made his Mansfield debut. His first league game was against Cheltenham Town three days later. His first goal came in the 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town, his 12th professional game. Six goals were his final season, with Mansfield finishing 17th, 17 points ahead of Carlisle United who was the only side to be knocked out of The Football League.

Having left Mansfield, Boulding joined Division One side Grimsby Town on a free transfer in September 2001. His debut was as a second-half substitute in a 3–3 draw with Stockport County on 22 September 2001, before he scored his first Grimsby goal a week later away at Bradford City. Boulding was involved in Grimsby’s League Cup upset, when they defeated cup holders Liverpool with a 2–1 extra-time victory, but they struggled in the league. Boulding was in and out of the starting eleven, but when he was recalled to the side for the visit of Crystal Palace on 2 March 2002 in place of Martin Pringle, who had broken his leg, Boulding scored in a 5–2 victory to ease their relegation worries. He scored again three days later in a defeat, and followed it up with the first hat-trick of his career in a 6–2 victory later the same month against Wimbledon, which moved them out of the relegation zone. Grimsby’s survival was ensured before the end of the season, when they defeated Burnley 3–1, with two goals from Boulding. Boulding finished Grimsby’s leading scorer for the 2001–02 season with 11 goals in 39 appearances, and with his one-year contract due to expire in the summer, he was offered a new contract by the club. Boulding, however, turned down the offer and instead joined Aston Villa in July 2002 on a Bosman free transfer.

Boulding was immediately involved in Aston Villa’s Intertoto Cup campaign, making his debut against FC Zürich on 21 August 2002 in a 2–0 defeat, before he scored the first goal in the second leg as Aston Villa overturned the first leg deficit to win 3–2 on aggregate. However, he did not make an appearance in the Premier League and in September 2002, he joined Sheffield United on a one- month loan with a view to a permanent move. The loan deal was extended for a second month, but an ankle injury restricted his opportunities at Sheffield United and he returned to Aston Villa in November 2002. He played seven times for United, scoring one goal in a League Cup tie with Wycombe Wanderers.

Boulding scored four goals in consecutive league games during September and October 1999-2000. He could not score any more goals in the remainder of the campaign, making it a total of six. Two minutes later, he scored his last goal for Mansfield against Scunthorpe United. This result helped them to win their fourth consecutive home victory and move up to the 13th position in the league. Boulding was out of Mansfield’s two-year contract and had played 74 games in all competitions, 41 as a substitute. He scored 12 goals in his two seasons, all of which were in the league.

Michael Thomas Boulding was born 8 February 1976. He is sometimes known as Micky Boulding. From 1998 to 2011, he played as a forward and winger in football. He was a promising young tennis player who ranked among the top 20 in Britain before he embarked on his football career.

Boulding was a talented footballer as well as a tennis player when he was a boy. However, he was convinced to go into the second sport after he was spotted by Tony Pickard at age 13. Boulding was a member of the national team and participated in international events, including South America, India, South America, and the junior Wimbledon Championships as well as the qualifying rounds for the Grand Slam. He was one of the best 20 players in Britain during his career and he shared a room with Tim Henman. Between 8 July 1996, and 1 November 1999, he held an ATP singles ranking world ranking. He played for two years in Division Three with Mansfield, before he moved up two divisions to Grimsby Town. After scoring 11 goals in a season with Grimsby, he attracted interest from Premier League-side Aston Villa. However, his stay with Villa was short-lived and his only first team action was in the Intertoto Cup, before he returned to Grimsby. He spent another two years with Grimsby and then another two with Barnsley, before he decided to retire in 2005.

Boulding worked in the family business but returned to football in March 2006, with Rotherham United. He did not play for Rotherham in two months and instead returned to Mansfield Town, along with his brother, Rory, at the end of the season. Boulding scored just six goals in his first season with Mansfield. However, after he scored 25 in his second season, when the team were relegated from The Football League, he attracted interest from a number of League One and Two clubs. He eventually decided to join Bradford City, again with his brother, but the pair were released early from their contracts after less than two years with the club. The brothers were given trials back at Mansfield Town, but while Rory joined Accrington Stanley, Michael returned to Barnsley on short-term deal and later had a similar contract at Derby County but never featured in either first team. Boulding’s goals attracted interest from a number of clubs including League One side Cheltenham Town, and League Two teams Bradford City, former clubs Grimsby Town and Rotherham United, and Lincoln City. Boulding and his brother were expected to sign for Cheltenham Town but had a change of heart and instead moved to League Two side Bradford City on a two-year contract in July 2008, joining the team on their tour of Scotland.
