Megan, who grew up in Hawaii as a beach boy, quickly rose to prominence and was selected for the 1998 World Championship Tour ranks. Since then, she has been a member of the WCT and was the runner-up for the 2000 world title. She has won many water and land victories. Megan won in October 2004 the WCT Rip Curl Malibu Pro. She shot from 14th through 9th in the ratings. She won the WCT Figueira Pro Portugal 2002 and the WCT Roxy Pro Fiji 2001. She has also won 5 WCT wins over her career.
Megan is the proud owner of 6 Association of Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour wins, including the 2001 World Champion runner up title and a no. 2004.
Today her work includes being spokesperson on behalf of Roxy for Keep A Breast – an art initiative that raises money for breast cancer research by auctioning art-decorated breast casts of famous female athletes and artists. Megan has developed a passion for breast cancer awareness since her sister, a 2-time breast cancer survivor, was first diagnosed at age 27. Her sister has since died. Megan headed up a Keep A Breast fundraiser in Hawaii of 2004 at the Roxy Pro.
