Raja Mayukh Hazarika (also known as Raja) was born in Guwahati on 13 January 1971 to Assamese singers Jayanta Haizarika and Manisha Hzarika. He is the sole son of a musician duo. He was just seven years old when his father died. He was only seven years old when he lost his father. Hazarika studied at University of Delhi and Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khanapara. He graduated from AJKMCRC Jamia Millia Islamia University.
His album “Sokue Jodi Kotha Koy”, which was released 5 February 2009, was a big hit and was promoted by Bharti Airtel. He had previously been singing covers of Jayanta Haizarika and Bhupen Haszarika’s popular songs. While Hazarika is a cherubic singer, his father inspired him to develop his unique style.
After graduating from IIM, Hazarika was appointed Head of Camera at NDTV Lifestyle. He was also performing simultaneously as a singer at concerts all over India and around the globe with his wife, Laili Dutta Haizarika, and mother Manisha Hazaika.

Mayukh Hazarika, Assamese: my’ukh haajr’ikaa; born 13 Jan 1971), is an Indian playback vocalist and music director. He is the frontman for the Delhi-based band Mayukh Hazarika as well as the Brahmaputra Baladeers. He is the son and nephew of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, a legendary Assamese musician pair Jayanta Hazarika & Manisha Hazarika.
Hazarika lives with his wife Laili DUTTA Hazarika and their daughter in Bombay. Jayanta Hazarika, a noted Assamese singer, and music director, was Hazarika’s father. He died in Kolkata on October 15, 1977 at the age 34.
