He was elected provincial secretary to FGCI (Youth Communist Italian Federation), Pescara in 1984. In 1985, he was elected as a counselor in Zanni district in Pescara. He later became a city councilor in that same city in 1990.
He was the radio director and founder of Radio Citta Pescara-Popolare Network in 1996. From 1996 to 2006, he was the regional secretary of Communist Refoundation of Abruzzo. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2006, and was also nominated for The Left – The Rainbow for the Senate in 2008. However, the list didn’t exceed the threshold, so he wasn’t elected.
On 2 April 2017 he has been appointed as new Secretary of the Communist Refoundation Party.
