Macri was called up by the Twins on May 22, making his Major League debut against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica park on May 24. Macri scored his first major league hit against Nate Robertson in his first at-bat. Macri scored his second major league hit and drove in his first RBI.

Macri was a Tulsa resident for the entire 2006 season, hitting.232 with 8 homers and 35 RBI. He then suffered a left wrist fracture that ended his season. Macri returned to Tulsa in 2007, hitting.298 and scoring a career-high 11 home runs. He also scored 33 RBI. Macri was called up by the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox, where he played only three games before being traded the Twins to pitcher Ramon Ortiz. He played in 14 games during the final season of his Rochester season. Macri was a part of the Arizona Fall League, helping the Phoenix Desert Dogs to win the league title. He drove in to the championship game and scored a run.

On August 18, 2009 the Twins designated Macri for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Philip Humber.

On December 23, 2010 the Rockies announced that they had signed Macri to a minor-league contract. He played with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in 2011.

Macri was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 5th round, 2004 Major League Baseball Draft. He was the 140th overall draft choice. Macri was drafted by the Rockies Single-A affiliate Tri-City Dust Devils in the 5th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft. He hit.333 and had seven home runs. He also had 43 RBI, making him the All-Star team. Macri spent much of 2005 on two trips to the disabled with a left wrist injury. He was healthy and played the majority of the season with the Rockies High-A affiliate Modesto Nuts, hitting.283 with 7 homers and 34 RBI before being called up for one game with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers.
