Ginter used the out clause contained in his agreement, after having a 3-9 record in Pawtucket and was not called up prior to July 1. Ginter began 2007 as a player for The Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, however, after becoming free agents, he was signed in the late summer to the Milwaukee Brewers, and was assigned to their Triple-A affiliate The Nashville Sounds. Ginter was a free agent following the season.
On the 21st day of December 2007 Ginter was signed to a minor league contract on December 21, 2007. Cleveland Indians signed Ginter to an minor league contract, which included the possibility of a spring-training invitation. The Indians invited Ginter to begin on July 12th in 2008. In his first appearance in the major leagues in the last three years Ginter was able to throw five shutout innings, with five strikeouts, in a victory. After a stint on the disabled list Ginter was released for the minors the 25th of August and was released after the season. In January 2009 the player signed an minor league contract for the Milwaukee Brewers. He applied for free agency following the season.
