On March 14, 2014 Cohler was the lead investor in Benchmark’s acquisition of Xapo which is an online Bitcoin wallet and insured secure cold storage vault.
In the year 2018 the announcement was made that Cohler was to “step back” from Benchmark and not be member of the fund’s next. Even though he quit the Benchmark fund but was still expected to remain in his board positions, including at Uber. Cohler quit his position on the Uber board of directors in the month of July 2019 while also being Arianna Huffington was also leaving the board.
