Masao Inoue (Jing Shang Yang , Inoue Masao, born on March 6 1970, in Chuo, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese professional wrestler who is working for Pro Wrestling Noah as a freelancer. Inoue started his career in All Japan Pro Wrestling in 1991 before moving into Pro Wrestling Noah during a mass exodus in the year 2000. Inoue was a part of the next 12 years working with Noah prior to returning back to AJPW in the year 2012. Since then, he’s played regularly in both promotions and as an independent.

Inoue received his first title match since his return on August 8 where he faced Akebono and Hama with KENSO as his partner, however, the pair fell short in their bid for the All Asia Tag Team Championships.

Inoue’s first attempt at winning an All Japan singles championship since his return came on September 25, 2016, where he came up short against Yohei Nakajima in a match for the Gaora TV Championship. Inoue on January 2, 2017, received, along with partner Jun Akiyama, a match for the All Asia Tag Team Championships in a Street Bunkhouse Death Match against the champions Atsushi Onita and Masanobu Fuchi. The tandem ultimately came up short in their bid to dethrone the champions.

Inoue was one of the founding members in The Dark Agents stable along with Akitoshi Saito and Takashi Sugiura. He was second in command to Saito. Inoue typically sat in the lower tier of cards but did not see numerous high-profile matches. After a long time of trying to get on the list, Inoue and seven other NOAH wrestlers were granted the chance in March and early April of 2006 to take part in the main event at the Tokyo Nippon Budokan event. GHC Heavyweight Champion Jun Akiyama proposed a tournament to decide who would be his next opponent. Inoue stunned many fans of wrestling by defeating rookie Shuhei Taniguchi Takuma Sano and, finally, his stablemate Akitoshi Saito to beat the competition. Inoue took on Akiyama in a tense battle that lasted more than 23 minutes before he was beaten by the wrist-clutch explosion. With this victory in the tournament and his subsequent gruelling match with Akiyama, Inoue greatly improved his standing within the company.
