Davies was born to Mary Ellen, a nurse along with Brian Davies, also a musician. Davies grew up in the Cleveland region and completed her studies at Fairview High School in 1996. At High School, Davies performed in the Honor Choir, was a part of productions performed by the school’s stage troupe, the Stagecrafters as well as an active vocalist in the Jazz Band. She later went on to Kent State University and later transferred to Bowling Green State University where she was involved in theatre and music. While at college, she worked for The UPS Store loading package trucks to pay the costs. She began her training as a dancer, then toured with dance shows as a young person and working alongside Tina Landon, and later began acting and singing. Davies is a student of improv at The Second City in Cleveland and is a part in the Something Dada Improv Group in Cleveland. Davies has performed and lived throughout Kansas City, New York City and now lives in Cleveland. In late 2017 , she gave her first child, a son.

Following college, Davies started singing at blues jams in Cleveland around 2002. Additionally, during this time she was an instructor at Dance Dimensions in Ohio with Jen Naso. The year 2005 was the time she was a contestant and was chosen as the lead in the touring show called Love, Janis. She has toured Europe as part of Janis Joplin’s first band, Big Brother and the Holding Company as well as formed her own band called the Mary Bridget Davies Group that performs at festivals and in clubs all over the world.
