Martyn John Evans (born 27 November 1953 in Birmingham, England), is an ex- South Australian Australian independent and Australian Labor Party state and federal politician.

The division of Bonython was abolished in the redistribution of the electoral rolls in 2003. Evans was a candidate for an election in the Division of Wakefield at the 2004 election, which taken over the majority of Bonython’s previous territory, and was now considered to be Labor because of it. He was, however, narrowly lost by one-tenth of a percent.

Evans transitioned from state to federal politics in 1994. Evans was an Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives from March 1994 until October 2004, and represented his home state of the Division that includes Bonython, South Australia. The 1994 Elizabeth by-election took place after Evans quit to run in an election in 1994. Bonython by-election. Evans was part of the Opposition Shadow Ministry from 1996 until 2001.
