Marty Atkins is one of the most popular and richest Australian Rules Footballer who was born on May 4, 1969 in London, United Kingdom. Martin Paul “Marty” Atkins (born on May 4, 1969) is an former Australian rules player, who played with South Fremantle in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Atkins has the distinction of having having the highest numbers of WAFL games played by South Fremantle.
In July 2003, Atkins beat Tom Grljusich as the South Fremantle record holder for games.
Atkins was appointed playing coach of Wesley-Curtin in the Western Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL) for the 2008 season. His form in 2009 was rewarded when he won the CJ Jamieson Medal as the best and fairest player in the WAAFL. He played until the 2010 season when he retired mid-season.
Atkins played in five matches with Western Australia, making his debut in 1992 against South Australia. He was presented with the Simpson Medal as best player during the 1993 match against South Australia.

In 1988 Atkins joined Western Australia Police. The police station he was assigned to was Wyalkatchem and Trayning cities that were more than 200 kilometers away from Perth. Atkins returned to Kwinana Senior High School for the duration of three years as a School police officers. After fifteen years, Atkins quit the police force in 2003 and took on an appointment with South Fremantle as football manager. Later, he was hired by Peel Thunder as football operations manager. In the beginning of 2012, he was appointed to Perth as its CEO.
Following the WAFL League debut back in 1989 He played 266 times with the Bulldogs including the 1997 championship.
In 2004 Atkins joined Donnybrook in the South West Football League (SWFL) where he made an immediate impact, finishing the season as runner-up for the Hayward Medal, the league’s award for best and fairest player. Between 2004 and 2007, Atkins played 65 times for the Dons.
