Wright was named Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2016 Birthday Honours for services to sports.

In her rehabilitation, she tried wheelchair tennis before spending her time playing sitting volleyball. Wright was the first player in the Great Britain women’s squad which started playing in late 2009 when she made their debut in the Kent International tournament against Paralympic Champions, China. In July 2012, she was selected for Great Britain’s female sit volleyball team in the event of sitting volleyball at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
