Martin Khor Kok Peng (November 9, 1951 until 1 April , 2020) was Executive Director at the South Centre (an intergovernmental organisation of developing countries located at Geneva, Switzerland) from 1 March 2009 until 2018. He succeeded his predecessor Dr. Yash Tandon who was the Executive Director of the South Centre from 2005 to 2009. Khor was also an economist, journalist and director of the Third World Network, which is located at Penang, Malaysia.
Khor was fighting cancer since the year 2015, and had returned to Penang to fight the disease. He died on April 1 of 2020. The wake was held at the funeral parlor in Mount Erskine on the following day, and his funeral scheduled for April 2,, at the same place. He was a father of a daughter and wife at the time of his passing. Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan paid tribute to him.
