Markus Lauridsen is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Defenseman who was born on February 28, 1991 in Gentofte Municipality, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark. Markus Holton Lauridsen (born 28 February 1991) is a Danish professional defenseman in ice hockey who is currently playing in the Swedish Hockey League HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). It is his younger sibling of Oliver Lauridsen of the Jokerit.

In the wake of aiding Green Bay capture the Clark Cup Championship, Lauridsen accepted an invitation to be a part of his team at the Colorado Avalanche 2012 training camp on the 22nd of August. In the wake of the NHL lockout preventing Colorado from attending the practice camp Lauridsen got the chance to be part of the training camp for the Avalanche AHL affiliate The Lake Erie Monsters. Inked for the terms of an AHL agreement to the Monsters, Lauridsen was then transferred to his professional career during the 2012-13 season, playing for the his first Central Hockey League affiliate, the Denver Cutthroats.

After three-years within the Colorado Avalanche organization, and unable to reach the NHL, Lauridsen signed as an impending restricted free agent to a one-year deal with Swedish second tier club, AIK IF of the HockeyAllsvenskan on 16 June 2015. In the 2015–16 season with AIK, Lauridsen cemented a role on the blueline, contributing with 21 points in 50 games and was instrumental in helping the club compete in the playoffs for promotion to the SHL.

On 14 April 2016, Lauridsen left AIK to sign a lucrative two-year contract with top-tier SHL club, Leksands IF. He left the team after the conclusion of the 2016–17 season and inked a deal with German Deutsche Eishockey Liga side EHC München in May 2017.

Lauridsen made his debut goal for professional in his debut game in the Cutthroats season opener on October 19th, 2012. He scored 15 points his first season in the Cutthroats defense prior to receiving an additional recall to remain in the Lake Erie Monsters, finishing with 12 assists over 36 games. At the end of his debut professional season, Lauridsen was signed to an entry- level contract for two years to the Avalanche.

Lauridsen was a player in his home country of Denmark with his hometown Lower Division club IC Gentofte, before moving to in the Swedish young team from Linkoping HC. After a brief stint playing in the J20 SuperElit in 2008-09, and with NHL aspirations, Lauridsen moved to North America to pursue his junior season in the United States Hockey League with the Green Bay Gamblers. He was not selected, Lauridsen had an age-related player during their second year with the Gamblers in 2011-12, scoring 30 points over more than 58 games.

Playing alongside brother Oliver, he appeared in every game for Denmark to finish with 1 assist in 7 games to help avoid relegation and finish in 12th place.
