In 1999, on the ATP Tour, Hipfl broke into the top 100 for the first time. He reached the semi-finals of the Morocco’s Grand Prix Hassan II and was a quarter-finalist in four tournaments: San Marino, Sankt Polten, Sicily and Majorca.
