In his sophomore year in 2010-11, Cummings earned second-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference for the second time, and was the top scorer in the A-Sun by scoring a record-setting single-season 18.3 points over 30 games (30 starts) and also contributed 5.0 rebounding, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.5 minutes per game. He scored 20 consecutive games with double-digit scoring that saw him score 20 or more points at a school record of Division I 14 times, and led in scoring 17 times, and led the Owls by scoring 17 times, and was awarded the title of Player of the Week one time after scoring a season-high 31 point on 9-of-19 shots and distributing a personal-best 6 assists in a game against Campbell on February 7th in the 7th of February in 2011.
On November 1, 2013, Cummings was selected by the Bakersfield Jam in the third round of the 2013 NBA Development League Draft. He went on to make his D-League debut in the season opener on November 22 against the Idaho Stampede, scoring 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting off the bench in a 121–113 loss. Despite an impressive debut, Cummings’ role and subsequent minutes with the Jam began to drop over the course of the season as he appeared in just 28 out of 50 games while averaging 6.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game. He scored a season-high 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting off the bench on March 28 against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Despite his limited opportunities in 2013–14, he was selected to participate in the NBA Development League’s fifth- annual Elite Mini Camp in Chicago on May 12 and May 13.
In July 2013, Cummings signed with the GlobalPort Batang Pier as an import for the 2013 PBA Governors’ Cup. In his PBA debut on August 14, he recorded 37 points and 11 rebounds to lead GlobalPort to a win over Air21 Express to open the Governors’ Cup. He helped the team reach the quarter-finals where they lost to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on September 26. In 10 games for GlobalPort, he averaged 28.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
In the 2011-12 season as a junior, Cummings earned second-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference for the third consecutive season, after he ranked 2nd in A-Sun in scoring , scoring 15.4 scores per game. After receiving his first A-Sun Preseason Player of the Year award as well as recording 18 points during the season’s opening game with Wisconsin, Cummings was suspended for a period of time by the school because of “conduct detrimental to the team” and was therefore unable to play in the Owls in their game on November 14 against Auburn. In the end, Cummings returned from a one-game suspension on the 18th of November scoring 21 points on the bench which led Kennesaw State to a 65-59 win over Chattanooga for Lewis Preston’s debut head coach win. Cummings was a student at Alfred E. Beach High School in Savannah, Georgia, where the three-time Chatham County first-team All-City honoree as a player on the basketball team. a star quarterback on football, as well as a center field and catcher in the Baseball team. He scored a career-high 575 points, scored at least 32 double figures and was the leader for his Owls by scoring 21 times and won the honor of Player of the Week twice.
