Mark Oldershaw (born February 7 1983) is an Canadian sprint canoeist from Canada. Oldershaw was awarded Bronze in the 1000-meter C-1 race event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He is the third generation Canadian Olympic canoer, fifth family member to take part in the Olympics and the first family member to earn the Olympic medal. He was a two-time Junior World Champion in the C-1 500 m race and C-1 1,000 m in 2001.
On July 1, 2015, Oldershaw was declared to be the Flagbearer of Canada during in the Pan American Games opening ceremony.
He is the child of Olympian canoeist Scott Oldershaw, who coaches him at the Burloak Club. He is also the grandchild of Olympian canoeist Bert Oldershaw, making him the third generation and the fifth members of the family to participate during the Olympics. Oldershaw is also a close friend of Olympic Teammate Adam van Koeverden and trains with Adam van Koeverden in the Burloak Canoe Club.

Oldershaw was born in Burlington, Ontario. His first fame came by winning a gold medal in the Junior World Championships in 2001 He won each of the C-1500 m and the C-1 1,000 meters events. But a few years later an abnormality was discovered on his right hand, which was the hand that was most often used for paddling. Two surgeries were required, which injured a nerve, and caused his persistent discomfort. The injury also led him not be able to compete in his participation in the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens. Oldershaw was able to make it to in 2008’s Summer Olympics in Beijing, however at Beijing the athlete was disappointed again by missing an event in which he was the winner of C-1 500m event.
Despite his disappointments, he carried to pursue his athletic career, and he aimed for Olympic glory. In the 2010 World Championships in Szeged, Hungary Oldershaw was fifth in the C-1 meters. He was then selected for Canada’s team at this year’s Summer Olympics and won the bronze in the C-11,000 meters. Following his final Olympic moment, he declared that “I am so happy. I just can’t even put it into words right now. I’m just so proud to represent Canada. The whole race I was just staring at the nose of my boat, there’s a big maple leaf on it, and it’s just such a good feeling.”
