Mark Amin is one of the most popular and richest Film Producer who was born on February 19, 1950 in Rafsanjan, Kerman, Iran. Amin originates from Rafsanjan the town of Rafsanjan, which is small located in Iran. Born into a family who was involved in the pistachio trading industry, Amin immigrated to the United States in 1967, and completed his last year in the high school system in Colorado.

An initial capitalization of $270,000 Amin was the co-founder of Trimark Holdings, a company which would have as its subsidiaries Trimark Pictures, Trimark Television and Trimark Interactive. Amin was chairman and the CEO of the newly-formed company. Trimark Pictures went on to publish such films like Warlock (1989), The Dentist (1996) and the Leprechaun franchise (the first one starring Jennifer Aniston, a young actress).

In 2000, Amin and his brother, Reza Amin, formed the Bijan and Soraya Amin Foundation, which has helped support organizations that include the National Ability Center, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the University Muslim Medical Association.

In 2000, Trimark merged with Lions Gate Entertainment in a move that made Amin Lionsgate’s single largest shareholder, as well as its vice chairman. During Amin’s nine-year tenure as vice chairman of Lionsgate, the company’s revenue grew from $184 million to $1.2 billion. The production company also produced and distributed film releases that included Monster’s Ball (2001), starring Halle Berry, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress, and Academy Award for Best Picture-winner, Crash (2004).

Amin’s work in the film industry began in the 1980s with his involvement in the company that operated a chain of retail stores for video entertainment that were located in Los Angeles known as 20/20 Video. The year 1985 saw Amin created Vidmark Entertainment as which was an “aggressive independent supplier” of video-related content during the beginning of home entertainment. It was the success financially of Vidmark’s first video releases that prompted Amin to continue to grow his work as a producer.

As of 1972, Amin was a graduate of his school at the University of Kansas with a degree in economics. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Amin attended New York University’s business school for a semester. But, New York City proved too overwhelming, so Amin moved onto the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles. Amin was able to graduate from the school of management with an Masters of Business Administration in Marketing in the year 1975.

In 1979, a political and military tensions arose in Iran. In the aftermath, Amin relocated to Europe and later returned back to Los Angeles. After returning, Amin became involved in several business ventures which included the real estate industry, petrochemicals, and commodities.

In 1997, Amin donated $25,000 to the University of Kansas to start a scholarship for those students studying film at the school.
