Marika Lejon (born 3 October 1984 in Stavanger) is a Norwegian singer and composer. She was raised in Sogne located in the southern part of Norway with the support of a Norwegian father and an Slovak mother. Both of her parents were journalists, which gave her the chance to travel around and experience the world.
In 2011, she took part in her second attempt at Melodi Grand Prix. Melodi Grand Prix with the self-written song “Hungry for You (Gipsy Dance)” however, she did not reach the finals. As she said, she composed the song while working on her thesis, and was yearning for laughter and dancing.
Lejon released her second album “Before Death” in 2015. The name of the album was decided, because all the songs were made before her mother dies of cancer in 2014. The cover was also made in Iceland (at Reynisdrangar), just one month before her mother died.
11 June 2018, Lejon received the Dixi award, awarded by the Norwegian Minister of Children and Equality, Linda Hofstad Helleland. Lejon received the award because of her work to prevent sexual abuse. She is the editor of a platform where assailants can share their stories anonymously.
She studied at the University of Oslo in Media Studies and she completed her master’s degree in the autumn of 2010. She also trained as a as a nutritionist within Norges Idrettshogskole and webmaster at Gjovik University College. From 2014 until the year 2015 Marika Lejon worked as an editor for Gymgrossisten Magazine (CDON Group). Since 2007 she has been working as a reporter for several magazines.

At the age 5 at the age of 5, she began to learn playing the piano through a private music instructor. Then, two years later, she quit the piano and instead took lessons in voice that lasted until she turned 16. When she was just 6 she began composing her own music. Lejon released her debut song “To Milan” in 2004. She was a part of “Kjempesjansen” autumn 2006 with the song she composed herself “Again” and the gypsy song “Nane Tsocha”. She was a part of the Melodi Grand Prix 2007 (the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest selection) with the song “Perfect Sin” which was written by Swedish Adam AlverMark. In 2008, she appeared on Norway’s Got Talents on TV2. In 2009, she came out with the release of her debutalbum “My Fire”. The style she describes on this album “Gipsypop”.
In August 2015 Lejon became a mother to Lorren Karlotta Arnthorsdottir Lejon.
