Marie Skammelsen is one of the most popular and richest Artistic Gymnast who was born on February 22, 2001 in Rudersdal Municipality, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark. Marie Skammelsen (born February 22 2001) is a former Danish artist gymnast. She has been a Danish national team participant since 2010, she joined at the age of nine years old, she has earned many gold medals during the Northern European Gymnastics Championships as an undergrad and also won the all-around title in the 2016 competition. In June of 2016 she earned an impressive fourth place in the vault finals at the 2016 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Bern, Switzerland.

In June, she traveled to Bern to compete in her participation in the 2016. European Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The qualifying round was a success, seeing Skammelsen progress to the all-around finals in one of the last qualifying places. She also qualified for the finals of the vault event placing seventh in the qualifying quota. In the all-around competition, Skammelsen was ranked 20th out of 24. Following that, she took part in the vault final , where she dominated to fourth-place finish.

Skammelsen becomes a senior gymnast in 2017, and has openly set her immediate sights on participating at the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her more long-term goal is to make the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan – a participation from Skammelsen in these games would be the first of any Danish gymnast since 1976.

As of October 2017, she now longer practises gymnastics.

Skammelsen took part at Skammelsen was a participant in the 2015 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival during the summer of 2015 in which she traveled across the border to Tbilisi, Georgia. In the qualifying round she came in at thirty-sixth place, but did not get her into the final for all around, but she did make it to the vault final however. In the final vault she came in fifth.
