Marc Danzeisen Biography

Marc Danzeisen is one of the most popular and richest Drummer who was born on January 17, 1961 in Riverside, California, United States. Several drum sets and snaredrums dating back to 1940s Slingerland “Radio Kings”. One of these is a 1938 Ludwig & Ludwig snaredrum that belonged the legendary drummer Gene Krupa. He also owns Mapex, Gretsch, Ludwig & Ludwig, Leedy, Ludwig, Fibes, Corder, Darwin, as well as DDC (Danzeisen Drum Co), of various years.

Writer, producer, guitarist, and writer Dave Darling asked Danzeisen in 1995 to perform background vocals and to form a band for The Brady Bunch Movie soundtrack. Danzeisen was the drummer, Roger Joseph Manning, Jr., (Jellyfish), played keyboards, Sheldon Strickland, Eric Dover, (Jellyfish), guitar, and Dave Darling, was the vocalist. The fictitious name of Mud Pagoda was on the soundtrack album. The film featured the band as the backing band to Davy Jones who performed an updated version “Girl”.

In 2000, Danzeisen was asked to join the studio band for the short-lived Comedy Central game show Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush. The host was comedian Mark Curry. The band consisted of two horn players, a percussionist, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, and Danzeisen on drums. The band was well-rounded in every genre of music. The show lasted 23 episodes before being cancelled.

His personal and professional partnership with Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard) has been productive as well. Vivian had Danzeisen play drums and sing harmony/backing vocals on the Tom Petty song “American Girl” from the Def Leppard cover songs CD “Yeah” released through the Walmart chain from 2006. Danzeisen also sang backgrounds on the Def Leppard album Songs From The Sparkle Lounge in 2008.

Danzeisen continued to work as a session worker until 1993. Gilby Clarke, Danzeisen’s friend for twenty years, approached him to be part of his solo project. Gilby signed a solo contract with Virgin Records after recording demos for months and performing shows in L.A. Danzeisen (drums and backing vocals), Gilby (guitar and lead vocals), Will Effertz, bass, backing vocals), Joe ‘Dog” Almeida, (guitar and slide guitar) and several other guest artists entered A&M recording studio A with Waddy Wachtel (guitarist of James Taylor, Keith Richards and Linda Ronstadt), and producer for The Church. Pawnshop Guitars was Gilby’s debut solo album. Gilby and his band, now featuring guitarist Ryan Roxie, (Alice Cooper), went on a year-long tour, both as headliners in the US, and as opening acts for Aerosmith in South America.
