Manuella was born in Celje (present-day Slovenia). She started playing accordion at the age 6 and then moved on to piano, 9 and 12. At 12 she began to play bass-guitar. She appeared on National TV’s second season of Bitka talentov at 16 years old. She competed in Misija Evrovizija in 2011 and was in the Semi-final.
Brechko received his degree in music production from the University of Electrical Engineering Ljubljana in 2012.
On 5 January 2016, she was announced as one of the ten competing artists in EMA 2016, with the song “Blue and Red”. In the final, held on 27 February, she was declared the winner.
