Majid Barzegar, Persian: mjyd brzgr – born March 6, 1973, Hamedan, Iran) is a Iranian filmmaker, producer, screenwriter and photographer. His film company Rainy pictures was established in 2005 to encourage independent film production in Iran.
Barzegar’s production, A Minor Leap Down has won the FIPRESCI prize in Berlinale 2015’s Panorama section. Parviz was co-produced and directed in part by Barzegar. His film Rainy Seasons (film), won the Jury’s Special Mention Award in Brazil at the 34th Sao Paulo International Film Festival. He was also nominated to the Tiger Awards at Rotterdam International Film Festival 2011.
Barzegar was also the president of ISFA’s board since 2008.
