Mahmoud Aldebe is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on August 10, 1954 in Jordan, Sweden. Mahmoud Jamil Al-Debe (Arabic mHmwd jmyl ldby, born 10 Aug 1954) is the chairman of The Muslim Association of Sweden (Swedish : Sveriges muslimska forbund, SMF). He was the vice chairman of the Muslim Council of Sweden (Swedish : Sveriges muslimska rad), which is an umbrella organization that includes the Muslim Association of Sweden.

Expressen published an article on October 3, 2005. Abd al Haqq Kielan, a Swedish Imam and convert to Islam, wrote that Aldebe approached him and claimed that he was “a Jew that has converted to Islam for destruction for the Muslims”. He also said that he called him “Shaytan (Satan). Kielan also accused Aldebe, who he claimed used undemocratic tactics such as “threats,” slander, and reprisal against critics. Aldebe is charged with being an islamist and intent to give Islam an official role in Sweden’s Swedish Television (Sveriges Television).

Aldebe sent a letter to the then Swedish Minister of Justice Thomas Bodstrom in 2003 requesting a retrial for brothers Rezkar Atroshi and Dakhaz Atroshi. They were sentenced for their involvement in the 1999 honor killing of Pela Atroshi (19 years old) in Iraqi Kurdistan. The court described the murder as an example in honor killing. Aldebe, who was vice chairman of the Muslim Council of Sweden and wrote the letter on Aldebe’s behalf, claimed that the brothers had been innocent. The verdict was the result of “conspiracy” that involved leading politicians, police, and media.

Aldebe was born and raised in Jordan. He immigrated to Sweden with his wife Ebtisam Aldebe in the late 1970s. His wife ran for the Centre Party in 2006 Swedish Parliament elections. However, she didn’t get enough votes to win a seat. She was a part of the campaign to ensure that Muslims have a parallel legal system in Sweden. His wife was a Solna district court lay judge. She acquitted him of a charge involving wife-beating. He was from a “better” family and the wife should have “resolved any dispute with his family.” Both Ebtisam and the other lay judge at that trial were fired from the service of the district court. They were also stripped of their memberships in the Centre Party.

He was the chairman of SMF in the 1980s and co-authored “Islam in Sweden” (Swedish : Islam i Sverige). In it, he argued that Islam is an all- encompassing belief system, which provides clear instructions to follow in all areas of life, including moral, spiritual and economic. As chairman of SMF, he wrote a 2006 letter to all parties in the Swedish Parliament (Swedish, Riksdag). It demanded that Muslims be given a set of rules and laws: Imams must approve divorces; schools should teach Muslim children Arabic and religion separately and that girls and boys should not learn how to swim together. Aldebe demanded that Muslims receive two additional paid days to celebrate Islamic holidays. Aldebe’s vision of all-encompassing Islam, and his demand that employers give Muslims two extra days of paid time off to celebrate Islamic holidays, were based on the ideology of Hassan al-Banna.
