Mad Ice is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on October 8, 1980 in Masaka, Masaka District, Uganda. Mad Ice was born in Masaka, Uganda on 8/10/80. He moved to Kampala at the age of one. His family moved to Tanzania at the age of seven and he returned to Uganda at the age of ten. His first encounters were with Dancehall/Ragga Muffin Music in Uganda, which he began in 1995. As a 19-year-old, he moved back to Mwanza in Tanzania, and then to Dar es Salaam, to find better opportunities as an MC or performer at various venues and shows. He was a student of Corry Morriarty, a Canadian musician, and Richard Mloka, a Tanzanian musician. His first recording, “Wanadamu”, was an early 1990s Caribbean hit that was airplayed on some stations. It was also a big hit in Tanzania. He released “Baby Gal”, a follow-up single, after being encouraged by the success of his first recording. It was a huge hit in East Africa. He also had some success with his second album, Baby Gal, which was released in 2003. In an interview, he said that he was born in Uganda and spent many years in Tanzania. My singing career began there. Because I sing mostly in Swahili the majority of my songs are in Tanzanian. Miikka Kari, a Finnish record producer who is based in Tanzania, produced the 2003 album. It featured soca beats and African rhythms with touches of Ragga Soul and Pop. Songs were also sung in Swahili and Luganda.
He had great success in 2006 with “Ni Wewe”, and he participated in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition (ISC), reaching the semi-finals of the world music category with “Nionyeshe Najia”. He tours East African countries to keep his fans, despite being a resident of Finland. Most of his songs are written in Swahili or Luganda.
In 2011, Mad Ice released his EP titled Maisha. Recorded in Finnvox Studios, and produced by Oona Kapari, it was a great departure from earlier materials towards a softer soul sound. The EP resulted in release of title track “Maisha”, “Te Amo” and a big hit “Mapenzi Sumu” spearheaded by a music video directed by Joseph Bitar in Helsinki, Finland in July 2011.
When Miikka Mwamba Karai returned to Finland in 2004, he invited Mad Ice along to Finland. He signed a three year contract with Miikka’s Mwamba Records label. He remained in Helsinki to collaborate with him on the follow-up self- titled Mad Ice, which was recorded at Firelight Studios in Finland in 2005. It was released by Mwamba Records and distributed through Finnish Edel Records. Miikka Mawamba Kari has produced for many other African artists, including Lady Jaydee and Inspector Haroun. Mad Ice toured Europe in support of his new album as part the “Scandinavian World Music Scene”. His music was heard on many European radio stations as well as at festivals. The album featured a remake of several songs by Baby Gal, including the hit single “Baby Gal”, as well as a single called “Wange”, which charted on many East African charts and reached number one in Tanzania and Uganda in 2005-2006. Mad Ice formed a collective with Quina Lad and Ziggy Dee. The collective “The Comrades” was formed to promote Ugandan artists who are based in Tanzania. Finnish stations also picked up “Wange”, particularly Power FM, making him more popular in Finland.

Ahmed Mohamed Kakoyi, a Ugandan singer-songwriter and songwriter who was born in Masaka on 8 October 1980. His fame was felt in Uganda, Tanzania, and other Eastern African countries. He later settled in Finland, where he developed a unique world music career, singing mostly in Swahili, Luganda, and adding English lyrics.
