She also started her own business. After further research in human behavior, Holt opened The “Live Well Centre”, Crows Nest in New South Wales. It offered both mainstream psychology and holistic natural medicine. Holt entered the disability sector in 2017 after the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), was established. Holt also opened “Choice Consultancy Pty Ltd”, which provided services for both aged and disabled clients.
Holt decided to retire in 2019, and began competing in shot put and discus again in the hopes of representing Australia at future Paralympics.
She won two bronze medals at the 1998 IPC Athletics World Championships, Birmingham, England. These were Women’s Shot Put F55, with a throw of 6.48m, and Women’s Disco with a throw of 18.96m. In order to prepare for the 2000 Sydney Paralympics, she trained six sessions per week. She also did strength training, throwing, and weight training.> She won silver in Womenm’s Shot Put F55 with throw of 6.48m. In F58, she placed tenth in Women’s Discus with throw of 20.94m. Frank Ponta, Holt’s first coach, stayed with her until the Sydney Paralympics. She retired in 2002.

Lynda Holt, born 9 March 1972, is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. At the 2000 Sydney Games, she won a silver medal in the Women’s shot put F55 event. Holt made the decision to return to competitive sport in 2020 after her 2002 retirement, which ended her 21-year sporting career.
Holt discovered wheelchair sports at the age of nine. Louise Sauvage, who was in the same class as her, introduced Holt to the club. They became great friends and shared a passion for sports. Holt tried all of the sports available, including swimming, basketball, slalom, and track. However, she soon discovered her passion for shot put, and discus. In 1981, Holt competed in her first Australian national championships. Holt competed in Australian national championships until her teens, and held her national records throughout. Holt represented Australia for the first time in 1988 as part of a junior team that flew to East Tennessee, USA to compete internationally.
