Lutz Dombrowski, born 25 June 1959, is an ex-German track and field athlete who was also an Olympic champion.
Dombrowski was the greatest long jumper ever from East Germany. He won the 1979 European cup and was awarded the gold medal at 1980 Summer Olympic Games in Moscow. He was the European champion in 1982. He was a member of the Karl- Marx-Stadt sports club. His Moscow victory jump of 8.54 meters was a low- altitude record that still holds the German national record. It was second only to Bob Beamon’s 1968 world record 8.90 meters.
