Luther Blissett is one of the most popular and richest Footballer who was born on February 1, 1958 in Falmouth, Trelawny Parish, Jamaica. Luther Loide Blissett, born 1 February 1958, is an ex-professional footballer and former manager who played for England during the 1980s. Born in Jamaica, Blissett was a striker and is most well-known for his time with Watford where he helped to win promotion from the Fourth Division into the First Division. Blissett, who played 503 games and scored an astounding 186 goals in 2010, holds the Watford all-time record for appearances (and goals)

Blissett also played for A.C. Milan in 1983, which paid PS1m, before selling him to Watford in 1984 for PS550,000. Bournemouth, where he had nearly one goal per two appearances. England capped Blissett 14 times, with him scoring a hat trick on his debut. Blissett retired from playing and began coaching. He was initially managed by Graham Taylor at Watford. From 2006 to 2007, he managed Chesham United.

Blissett was successful at Dean Court, scoring 19 times from 30 league games in 1988–89 as the Cherries finished 10th in the 2nd division, after emerging as surprise promotion contenders in only their second season at that level. He scored 18 goals in 1989–90, though a terrible second half of the season dragged the Cherries down the table and on the last day of the season they were beaten at home by Leeds United in a result which gave the visitor’s promotion as Second Division champions and relegated the Cherries to the Third Division. Undeterred, Blissett continued his fine form for Harry Redknapp’s team, scoring 19 goals, though it wasn’t enough to earn promotion at the end of the 1990–91 campaign.

Since the mid-1990s, Luther Blissett has frequently been used as a pseudonym, most notably by members of the Luther Blissett Project.

In June 1983, he moved to A.C. Milan, spending PS1 million. However, he wasn’t as successful in Italy as he was in England. He scored only five goals in his 30 games. Since then, it has been suggested that A.C. Milan mistook him for John Barnes, his Watford teammate. Gabriele Marcotti, an Italian journalist covering football believes that this story is false. He says that there are two reasons why he believes it is false. “First, even the most inept and provincial person could see that Barnes and Blissett looked completely different. The second is the simple fact that Milan was looking for a goal- scorer at that time and Barnes wasn’t that type. Blissett once famously said that no matter how rich you are in Italy, he couldn’t get Rice Krispies.
