MacGregor, along with crewmates Annie Lush (double Olympic gold medallist) and Shirley Robertson (three-person keelboat), was a candidate for selection to the 2008 Summer Olympics. The trio won the bronze medal at 2007 World Championships but were not selected for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Instead, Sarah Webb, Pippa Wilson and Sarah Ayton were chosen. They ended up winning gold at the Olympic event.
MacGregor joined her younger sister Kate MacGregor and Annie Lush, Mary Rook, to win gold at ISAF’s women’s match racing World Championship, Newport, Rhode Island, United States. The British team won the final 3-2 against an American team led by Sally Barkow, a two-time world champion. MacGregor was part of a crew that included Kate MacGregor and Lush MacGregor at the 2011 Sailing World Championships. They were defeated 4-0 by Anna Tunnicliffe’s United States boat. They won the gold medal in the 2011 World Cup event at Hyeres in France, beating Barkow’s team 3-0 in final.
In 2013, MacGregor won the inaugural Women’s International match Racing Series tour.
