Lucas Reiner is the third child of Carl Reiner and Estelle Reiner. He was born in Los Angeles. His paternal grandfather, a creative man, designed a timepiece for Emperor Franz Joseph. He then immigrated from Czernowitz to New York City. Reiner studied fine arts at Parsons School of Design and Otis Art Institute between 1978 and 1986.
