Friberg was born in a golfing family and began playing golf as a youngster at Rya Golf Club outside Helsingborg. Both her father Mikael, and her grandfather Bjorn, were elite golfers. Each of them had a scratch handicap in the 1970s. After meeting Karsten Solheim in 1971, her grandfather Bjorn founded the Swedish Ping equipment agency. Mikael managed the business until his retirement in 2016, after 45 years.
Friberg became a professional golfer in 2003. She played first on the LPGA Futures Tour and then on the Swedish Golf Tour. In September 2005, she won the CA Ladies Trophy at Ullna Golf Club. 2006 was her first year on the Ladies European Tour. She was a top-10 finisher on the Ladies European Tour in 2007 with three top-10 finishes.
At the fall 2007 LPGA Qualifying Tournament, she finished tied for 9th, earning fully exempt status on the LPGA Tour for the 2008 season.
She competed at the 2007 Women’s British Open, a major tournament on the LPGA Tour, at the Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland, and finished tied for 33rd. It was the first time a women’s tournament were allowed at the Old Course.
She finished 9th in 2002 and was the best Swedish player at the European Ladies Amateur Championship. It was played at Kristianstad Golf Club in Sweden. This is nine strokes behind Becky Brewerton from Wales.
