Riegelhuth began playing handball at Ski, her hometown club. Later, she played handball for Holmlia until Furuset and Larvik HK became interested in her. She was just 17 years old when she signed for Larvik in 2002/03 Season.
In 2003, she made her debut with the Norwegian national team. She has played 268 matches and scored 965 goals since July 2015. She has been a five-time European champion, from 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2014. She was the European Championship’s top scorer for 2008 and she was also named Best Right Wing to the all-star team. She was awarded a silver medal at 2007 World Women’s Handball Championship, a gold medal at 2008 Summer Olympics, and a bronze medal at 2012 Summer Olympics.
She’s the older sister of fellow handball player, Betina Riegelhuth. On 25 June 2011, Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth married Einar Sand Koren, and changed her name to Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth Koren. In May 2015 she announced that she and her husband was expecting their first child, and had to take a break from handball. After giving birth 22 December 2015, Riegelhuth Koren was back playing for Larvik against Rælingen HK on 2 March 2016.
