Linda Fabiani, born 14 December 1956 in HonFRIAS OSSI FCIH, is a Scottish politician. She is a member of the Scottish National Party and the Member of Scotland’s Parliament (MSP), East Kilbride constituency. From 1999 to 2007, she was an additional member in the Scottish Parliament for Central Scotland.
Fabiani was knighted by Italy’s Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity in 2007 for her efforts to promote links between Scotland, Italy.
In May 2011, in the first SNP gain of the election, Fabiani took the East Kilbride constituency from Andy Kerr. With Kerr widely touted as a potential successor to Labour leader Iain Gray, this was one of the major SNP victories of the election. On 21 June 2011 she became the Convener of the Scotland Bill committee.
After being re-elected in the 2016 election, Fabiani was elected as one of the two Deputy Presiding Officers of the Scottish Parliament.
Fabiani was elected Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Culture after the SNP took control of the Scottish government following the 2007 elections. Mike Russell replaced Fabiani as minister half way through her term with the SNP.

Fabiani failed to contest the First past-the-post constituency of East Kilbride at the 1999, 2003, and 2007 elections. He finished as the runner up to Andy Kerr, Labour. This reduced Labour’s majority to 1,972 in 2007, 1999, and 3,499 respectively in 2003.
After the 2003 election, she was the SNP’s deputy spokesperson on Communities within the Scottish Parliament and headed the Parliament’s European and External Relations Committee.
In 2009, she was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing of Scotland.
