Lim Yo-Hwan is one of the most popular and richest Pro Gamer who was born on September 4, 1980 in Seoul, South Korea. Lim Yo-hwan, born 4 September 1980, is a former professional StarCraft player. He is known by the ID SlayerS_BoxeR. His nickname is The Terran Emperor (Korean teranyi-hwangje), or simply “The Emperor”. He is widely considered to be an esports legend and one of the most prominent players in the genre. He retired from StarCraft II in late 2010 and started the StarCraft II team SlayerS. After the dissolution of SlayerS, he briefly worked as a coach at SK Telecom T1 before retiring from health-related reasons. He is currently a professional player of poker.

Lim, even after his prime years, was ranked 11th in the April 2006 Korean e-Sports Players Association’s (KeSPA), and reached the finals EVER Ongamenet Starleague of late 2004, losing to iloveoov three games to 2, and the finals (2005) So1 OnGameNet Starleague, losing to Anytime three games to 2.

After Lim joined the Republic of Korea Air Force, he started putting his fame to work. After a month and a half an Air Force pro-gaming team was created. Lim found some retired pro-gamers who joined the Air Force before him, including H.O.T-Forever, CLon, ChRh, fOru, Rage, Qoo, Sunny and MuMyung. Together they formed the first military pro-gaming team. Two months after the team was announced, ACE (Airforce Challenge E-sports) was official. ACE first played in the 2008 ShinHan Proleague, and has participated ever since.

He formed the StarCraft II clan SlayerS (sls) in November 2010. As well, he is featured in a documentary TV show, ‘Boxer’s Wings, about his StarCraft career and his transition from StarCraft: Brood War to StarCraft II.

Lim declared at the MSL group draws in August 2006 that he had received his draft from the government and would be entering Republic of Korea Air Forces (ROKAF), by the end of 2006. Later, he stated that he would do his best to return to Korea after two and a half years’ service.
