Lim Hng Kiang is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 9, 1954 in Singapore. Lim Hng Kiang (simplified Chinese: Lin Xun Qiang ; traditional Chinese: Lin Xun Qiang ; pinyin: Lin Xunqiang ; Peh-oe-ji: Lim Hun-kiong , born 9 April 1954) is a Singaporean politician. He was the Minister of Trade for the country. He was previously the Minister for National Development (1995-1999), Minister of Health (1999-2003), as well as a Minister within the Prime Minister’s Office (192003-04). Since 1991, he has been a member of Parliament (MP).

Lim was elected Minister for National Development in 1995 and Second Minister for International Affairs in 1998. He was made the Second Minister of Finance in 1998 after he had resigned as Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.

In 2003, Lim was made a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. He retained the role of Second Minister for Finance.

Lim was made the Minister for Trade and Industry in 2004. He was subsequently put in charge of trade at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The ministry was split into two, with Lim taking the trade portfolio and the industry portfolio taken by S. Iswaran.

Lim was elected first to Parliament in 1991, as an MP for Tanjong Pagar Group Representation constituency. He has been a representative of the West Coast Group Representation Constituency since 1997 (West Coast GRC).

Lim received his education at Raffles Institution. He was then awarded a President’s Scholarship as well as a Singapore Armed Forces Scholarship in order to study at Cambridge. In 1976, Lim completed an engineering degree. Lim received a scholarship in 1985 to pursue a Master of Public Administration at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
