Although his time with the Mohawks was a great success, Perkins quickly moved on to Europe and Finland during the next season. His achievements were not stopped by this. Forssan Kuripojat was his team’s second-place finish in the First Division. Perkins is a somewhat unknown journeyman in British basketball. He started his career in 1995 playing for his hometown team, the Birmingham Bullets. Perkins made his professional debut against Sheffield Sharks on September 9, 1995. Perkins has played for 7 British and 9 European teams during his career, as well as 6 appearances on the England national basketball team.

Perkins’s most successful years were spent with the Bullets team in the mid- nineties. He was the first BBL Play-off Winner and helped the Bullets defeat London Towers, 78-72, in front of a full Wembley Arena crowd. Perkins and the Bullets would regain the Playoff title two years later, in 1998. Following the closure of the Towers that summer, Perkins was again on the lookout for a team and moved on to the Scottish Rocks for a brief period before travelling through Switzerland, Spain and France and eventually ending up back in London under the command of Steve Bucknall at BBL rookies London Capital, where he signed on a temporary basis. After the end of a shambolic first season for London, Perkins opted to sign for another rookie team Worthing Thunder, who had just joined the BBL from the English Basketball League. After retiring from the game of basketball in November 2008, Perkins has decided to revitalise his career and get back to playing and has journeyed back to Europe to France once again.
