Cast was reformed in 2010, and they toured the UK in November/December 2010 in celebration of the 15th anniversary for All Change. They continued to play select festivals and dates throughout 2011, before releasing their new studio album, “Troubled Times”, in March 2012.

After Cast’s demise, Tyson continued to tour, record, and write with Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin’s frontman, in “The Strange Sensation”, his band. This was after Porl Thompson left in 2002. Tyson, now based in Snowdonia began to work on “Men from Mars”, a project that featured members of The Strange Sensation as well as Pyramid Dream. The project’s official Bandcamp page eventually allowed the release of the first Men From Mars album digitally in 2010.

Tyson’s first band, Pyramid Dream played regularly in Liverpool during the 1980s and early 1990s. One cassette album was released by the band, and it appeared on the compilation LP “One Summer in Liverpool”. The band toured Russia in 1991 as part of a cultural exchange trip organized by Liverpool City Council. Tyson’s contribution to this band was minimal, but his “total dedication” to his instrument was.

Cast was formed in 1994 by John Power, a former bass player at La’s. Tyson joined them. The band signed to Polydor, and they released three studio albums: All Change, Mother Nature calls, and Magic Hour. Power began work on the fourth album Beetroot in 2001. The band received very little input from other members. The album departed from Power’s original guitar sound and was heavily influenced by drum loops, sampled flutes, and horns. The album did not make it to the UK Top 75 and the band cancelled their planned tour to promote it within two weeks. The band split in August 2001 amid rumors of bust ups, and the possibility that they would be dropped by their record company.

In 2012, Tyson returned with other former Strange Sensation band members, with the addition of Dave Smith, Juldeh Camara and Patty Griffin, to back Robert Plant as Sensational Space Shifters, who debuted on stage in Gloucester on 8 May and will continue to tour throughout 2012.
