Jon Lewis Ford, born August 12, 1976, is an American professional baseball player and hitting coach. He was a Major League Baseball (MLB), player for the Minnesota Twins, and Baltimore Orioles. He was also a member of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), the Hanshin Tigers and the Mexican League for Oaxaca Guerreros de Oaxaca.
He played his first year of Single-A baseball for the Augusta Greenjackets in 2000. He had a great season. He stole 52 bases and set the single-season team batting record with.315, while adding 74 RBI from his leadoff position. Baseball America ranked him the best defensive outfielder of Class A. The Sporting News rated him the Red Sox’s Best 5-Tool Prospect. With 122 runs, he was the leading minor league baseball player.
Ford was named AL Player of the Week for the week ending August 21, 2005. He helped the Twins take three of four games from the Seattle Mariners after hitting 12-for-33, including three home runs, and leading the league in RBI and runs for that week.
Ford signed with the Hanshin Tigers in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball on November 29, 2007.
Ford was traded to Minnesota Twins on September 9, 2000 for Hector Carrasco. In 2002, he was also the leader in Minor League Baseball runs.

Ford graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1994, where he played baseball and football. He is also a 1999 graduate from Dallas Baptist University. He played college baseball at Texas A&M University, Seminole Junior College, and Lee College.
Ford was named a Dallas Baptist All-American in 1998. Ford set the school’s single school batting record by batting.507 in more than 50 games. Despite this, Ford wasn’t selected in the MLB Draft. Ford returned the next year to Dallas Baptist and played another season. After that, he was drafted 12th in the 1999 amateur draft by the Boston Red Sox.
