Levy Fidelix is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on December 27, 1951 in Mutum, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Fidelix was the son of Jarbas Fidelix (a merchant in transportation) and Lecy Araujo (an educator). Fidelix moved to Rio de Janeiro (the capital at the time) and studied communication science at Fluminense Federal University. However, he didn’t graduate. Later, he became a professional advertiser and journalist. Fidelix is Roman Catholic.

Alvaro Valle and he founded the Liberal Party in 1984. He ran for the office of State Deputy of Sao Paulo in 1986 and won 735 votes.

In 2010, he ran for president of Brazil for the first time and was the seventh candidate to get the most votes (57,960 or 0,06% of the total). He ran for Mayor of São Paulo in 2012 and again for President of Brazil in 2014, supporting the Brazilian military dictatorship. He received 446,878 votes (0,43% of the vote) and was again the seventh most voted; this was the closest he was in his career to winning an election.

On September 29, 2014, during a debate among candidates of the 2014 presidential election hosted by RecordTV, Levy Fidelix stated that homosexuals “need psychological care” and were better kept “well away from [the rest of] us”. He also said that Brazil’s population of 200 million would be reduced by half if homosexuality were encouraged because “the excretory system” does not function as a means of reproduction. He was asked to apologize but refused, believing that his statements were not offensive.

Jose Levy Fidelix da Cruz, a Brazilian conservative politician and businessman, was born December 27, 1951. He was the founder of Brazil’s Labour Renewal Party (PRTB), and ran for President of Brazil in 2010 and 2014. He is most well-known in Brazil for his promise to build a bullet train system linking Sao Paulo with Rio de Janeiro (the Aerotrem), and his controversial statements about homosexuality during a 2014 political debate. Although he has been in several political races, he has not won any.

Fidelix was a communications assistant for the government and founded Agricultura Urgente. It is the first national bulletin on agriculture. He launched Brazil’s first environmental campaign through Agricultura Urgente. This earned him a presidential award. He was also the co-founder of the magazine Governo e Empresa, a business magazine, and O Poder, a political magazine. He was the chief communication officer at Estanave (a company that is related to Petrobras) in 1976.

In 1989 and 1990, he worked as a communications assistant for Fernando Collor’s presidential campaign. In 1994, he founded PRTB, his current party, and tried to run for president for the first time but was unable to register. He subsequently ran for Mayor of São Paulo in 1996 (receiving 3,608 votes or 0,068% of the total), Governor of São Paulo in 1998 (receiving 14,406 votes) and 2002 (8,654 votes), Alderman of São Paulo in 2004 (3,382 votes), Federal Deputy in 2006 (5,518 votes) and Mayor of São Paulo in 2008 (receiving 0,09% of the vote).
