She also maintained her good form at 2009 ALBA Games where she won the gold medal in high jump. She made her senior debut at a top-level event in 2009 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics in Havana. She set a new record for jump height of 1.93m, and won at the Barrientos Championship and Cuban Championship meet. At the 2010 Ibero-American Championships of Athletics in Spain, she won the silver medal. She then finished fourth at the Memorial Primo Niolo meet, her first appearance on the European professional circuit. In July, she won the Cuba Cup meet in Havana and was then selected to represent Americas at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup. She finished sixth.
