At this time, Nielsen left the main Danish team and formed her own team. In 2007, at the European Curling Championships, she took Denmark to the bronze medal. In the 2010 European Curling Championships, she took over Denmark to finish 5th.
In 2011, Nielsen won her first World Curling Tour event at the International Bernese Ladies Cup. She also won the Danish national championships for the first time as a skip, which gave her the right to represent Denmark at the 2011 Capital One World Women’s Curling Championship in Esbjerg. She and her team finished in fourth place after a close loss in the bronze medal game to Wang Bingyu.
The following season, Nielsen’s Danish rink once again finished 4th at the 2012 European Curling Championships. Her team made the World Championships again, but finished with a worse result, a 4–7 record.
The following time, Nielsen was promoted to third place on the team, and they took home an Olympic bronze medal during the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival. Nielsen then played second in the team at the 2005 World Junior Curling Championships, where the team finished 4th. In 2005, at the World Women’s Curling Championship, the team finished 10th place.

Nielsen was a participant for the first time in international competitions in 2004 in the role of an alternative for Madeleine Dupont rink. Although it was an alternative, the rink took part in several games. In 2004, at the World Junior Curling Championships, the team placed 6th, as well. At the 2004 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship they placed 8th place. They placed 8th during the 2004 European Curling Championships.
The following year, Nielsen moved to play second in Dorthe Holm’s team.
