Lehmon Colbert Jr. (born 14th April 1988) is an American professional basketball player with Neptune in Neptune of the Irish Super League. He played in the NCAA basketball tournament at Jacksonville University before playing professionally in England, Mexico and Ireland. Colbert quickly established himself as a formidable force after his arrival at UCC Demons in 2013, and helped them win seven out of their nine awards in three seasons. After four years playing for UCC Demons, Colbert joined Neptune in the year 2018.
The 12th of April, 2006 Colbert signed an National Letter of Intent in order to participate in the college basketball league at Jacksonville University.
As a junior in 2008–09, Colbert played in all 32 games with 31 starting assignments, finishing second on the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures 22 times, going for 20 or more in a game twice, and became the 26th member of the school’s 1,000-point club. He scored a career-high 28 points against Stetson on January 23, hitting 9-of-12 from the floor and 5-for-5 from behind the arc. He had two double-doubles, coming in back-to-back games – the first was a 15-point, 11-rebound performance against Florida Gulf Coast on January 25, followed by a 16-point, 11-rebound outing against ETSU on January 30. He had a career-high 13 rebounds in the A-Sun championship game against ETSU on March 7.
In 28 games (26 starts) for the Dolphins in 2009–10, Colbert averaged 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 28.5 minutes per game.
As as a freshman at Jacksonville in 2006-07 Colbert was a part of every game, with 28 starts. He was selected as a member of the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team after being second in the scoring department (11.7 per game) as well as rebounding (5.2 rpg). For four seasons in Jacksonville, Colbert and teammate Ben Smith were the most prolific two-point scoring threat in the history of the school. Smith was a senior at the time with 1,971 points. After failing to secure a contract for the 2012–13 season, Colbert moved to Mexico in May 2013, where he joined Leñadores de Madera of the LiMeBa Liga. In January 2014, Colbert said of his experience in Mexico: “Luckily I got two years with Plymouth in England but last year I didn’t get a job, so I had to go to Mexico… that was strange, very, very crazy. I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. You had to be sober down there. It’s a dangerous country. I saw police coming out of the back of pick-up trucks with Tommy Guns.” With Leñadores de Madera, he averaged 28.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
