Leesa Gazi is one of the most popular and richest Actor who was born on August 14, 1969 in East Pakistan, Bangladesh. Leesa Gazi (Bengali: lisaa gaajii ; born on the 14th of August, 1969) is a Bangladeshi born British writer actor, playwright, director of theatre and actress living in London.
Gazi is co-founder of the theater and arts group, Komola Collective. She was the script-writer as well as actor in Six Seasons and Tahmima Anam’s A Golden Age at the Southbank Centre. Her credits in the theatre are: Birangona: Women of War, Sonata, Rokey’s Dream, Demon’s Revenge, Ponderful People and Bonbibi. She also created the script of Bonbibi: Lady of the Forest in 2012. She also performed in People’s Romeo, which had an eight-week national tour in conjunction with Tara Arts. Sonata was adapted and performed by Gazi she has been invited into Bangladesh at the end of the year 2010, by the British Council. She was a part of a serialized version to A Golden Age. She was the cultural coordinator as well as a voice actor in Akram Khan’s Desh.
The year 2012 was the last time she was employed as an interpreter of scripts for the Globe to Globe Festival in the Globe Theatre in The Tempest. She performed in an original play on domestic violence that was called Whisper My Happy Ever After. She is employed by Train4change in the role of an actor too and was part of an initiative with them to make an animation for charity WaterAid. Between May between May and august 2014, she was employed as an actor for an array that was part of BBC Educational Films.
