Lee Joseph Troop (born 22 March 1973) is an Olympic marathon runner from Geelong, Victoria, Australia. He began his career as a long-distance track athlete and then he was selected to represent Australia in the 5000-meter race in the 1998 Commonwealth Games and attended his first World Athletics Championships the following year. In 1999, he broke the Australian record for the 5000m distance in 1999, and then switched into the distance of a marathon.

In the following two seasons, Troop had to contend with numerous injuries however, he bounced back in 2003 and was having his best form ever. He set a personal record of 2:09:49 in the Lake Biwa Marathon, and placed 17th at the World Championships in Paris. He finished 27th at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games in the marathon, with an average of 2:18.46. He fell down after by suffering a stress fracture to the pelvis.

In October 2008, Lee announced that it was likely that he and his family would make a move to the United States no earlier than March 2009 with a desire to run in the Boston and New York Marathons. In 2008, he finished fourth in the Melbourne Half Marathon and took part in the Shanghai Marathon.

He started his journey into athletics around the age of 11, when he enrolled in the weight loss efforts of his father through running training sessions throughout Whittington in the Geelong area.
