Lee Jackson is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on November 19, 1963 in Austin, United States. Prior to his time with Apogee/3D Realms Lee studied at his time at the University of Texas at Austin between 1981 and 1983 as an Music Education major. He was accepted in the Alpha Iota chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia in the autumn of 1982. Lee was also a part of the section that carried the national flag in the University of Texas Longhorn Band and was a bassoon player in the UT Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band. He quit his position at the University in 1983, and went to work at IRS’s Austin Service Center with his wife, Brenda, whom he had married the year before. The couple had one child, Nathan, in 1986. Lee and Brenda each worked for the IRS until 1993 and then Lee was hired by Apogee Technical Support at Apogee. Lee was elevated to Music Director role in the year 1996. The wife of his, Brenda was retired as an IRS employee in Dallas in October of 2018.

Lee began his radio career as a producer and on-air traffic as well as news reporter in what was then the Dallas Fort Worth and Fort Worth market of Metro Networks in 2004. Lee continued to work when Metro Networks was acquired by Metro Networks from Clear Channel Communications and stayed in the position until the eventual merging into Metro in its Clear Channel Total Traffic Network subsidiary in 2011. He mostly provided traffic reports for the 9:15 p.m. until 5:45 a.m. shift that was overnight for the 1080 KRLD (AM) in Dallas from 2006 to late 2012, when his health issues led him to take on disability.

Lee was one of many former 3D Realms employees who worked on the long-delayed Duke Nukem Forever and who attended the game’s Happy Ending launch party held on June 11, 2011 at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, along with his wife and son.

Lee was one of the first people to qualify for full voting membership in National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Grammy organization) based solely on works published with video games. He is also a member of the NARAS Producers & Engineers Wing. Lee celebrated his 15th year anniversary as a member of both organizations in 2012 and his 20th anniversary in 2017.

Lee Jackson is an American composer from the United States. The composer was also the music Director and Sound Director of the developer of video games 3D Realms from 1994 through 2002. The most well-known of his work is as the composer of Duke Nukem 3D and Rise of the Triad specifically, for the creation of Duke Nukem 3D’s main theme named “Grabbag”. He worked together with Robert Prince to create the soundtracks for the two games’ instrumental tracks. Jackson composed all the soundtracks to be used in the final episode Duke Nukem 3D, better known as the “Plutonium Pak Add-On” or as the complete 4 episode “Atomic Edition.” In 2016 an update and remaster named Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour was released, which included a brand-new fifth episode created by the original level creators, as well as new original music composed by Lee Jackson.
