This honour is due to his long-standing contribution to the growth and promotion the tourism industry across Japan and Malaysia and his courageous decision to lead the first trip to Japan immediately following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan in the year 2011.
Lee is co-founder and Group Executive Chairman of the Apple Vacations Sdn. Bhd. (Formerly named Apple Vacations and Conventions Sdn Bhd) The first overseas travel agency to be awarded the “Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner’s Commendation Award”. Apple Vacations also introduced Malaysia Airlines the inaugural charter flights to Hokkaido in the year 2010. He has been the Lifetime Overseas Advisor for the Taiwanese Leisure Farming Development Association since 2009.
On the 17th of July, 2015 Lee released his debut book during the Hong Kong Book Fair about his travels and experiences as well as his view of the world.

Lee is a native of Yong Peng, Johor. His passion for travel and sharing travel information began from a young age. While in school, he, along with his future company partner planned out scouting excursions for the school’s troops. After high school, he was an official tour guide for Malaysia. He completed his tertiary studies in Japan and was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tokyo International University. After graduation, he came back to Malaysia with a wealth of experience working in the Japanese travel industry. He set up the travel agency Apple Vacations Sdn Bhd in 1996.
Since 2014 Apple Vacations & Conventions began collaborating in 2014 with Marriott International to develop the first Courtyard by Marriott in Malacca. It is expected to be located in Malacca’s central tourism area and is expected to open in 2017.
As of January 2020, Lee has traveled to 131 countries and is a member of Traveler’s Century Club located in California, United States.
