Lee Constantine (born November 6 1952) is a prominent American politician as well as a real property broker. He was an Republican senator in the Florida Senate from 2000 to 2010 and also of the Florida House of Representatives from 1992 until 2000 in the state of Florida, representing Orange and Seminole counties.

The year 2012 was the time that Constantine ran against the incumbent Seminole County Commission member Dick Van Der Weide in the Republican primary. He was supported by the Orlando Sentinel as a legislator who was known for “working hard, building consensus, and getting results.” Constantine was ultimately beat Van Der Weide and two other candidates in a tight and highly contested election. For the primary, Constantine had to face only a write-in opponent and won ninety-three percent of the votes.

Constantine was arrested for a drunken driving charge in the year 2004. This was his second conviction for driving while under the under the influence of alcohol. In 2007, the computer of the Florida Legislature deleted the article regarding Constantine being detained on charges of DUI on his Wikipedia page. When asked about the incident, Constantine declared, “I don’t even know what Wikipedia is, I’m surprised I can even pronounce it.”

Constantine relocated to Florida in the year 1958 and was born within Altamonte Springs. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the Florida Technological University at the time that is now known as The University of Central Florida, in 1974. While at FTU the student was involved as a member of FTU’s Student Government Association, serving successively as an elected student senator, vice president of the student body president and president of the student body.

in 1978 Constantine got elected in 1978 to be a member of the Altamonte Springs City Commission, the youngest member to be a member of the Commission in its history. Constantine was as a member of the City Commission for 14 years and, in 1981, was elected as the Mayor. In 1992 Constantine got elected to the Florida House of Representatives, and was reelected three times without opposition after which he defeated the businessman from his local area Ron Ellman for a seat in the Florida State Senate in 2000. Constantine was elected by the people he represented in 2004 without any opposition as well as defeated lawyer Jeremiah Jaspon to win re-election in 2006. Senator Constantine was not able to seek another term due to the limitations on term.

In November, 2015, WFTV (local channel 9) investigated Commissioner Constantine due to numerous allegations of a hostile work environment.
