Yoshimura left the sport in 1980 and became head coach at Kodogakusha (Jiang Dao Xue Yadoru , Kodogakusha) . His students include the former world champion Toshihiko Koga as well as Hidehiko Yoshida.
The expectation was that he would win the gold medal at World Championships in 1977 or Olympic Games in 1980. However, he didn’t get it because the World Championship was cancelled and Olympic Games was boycotted by Japanese government.
