Kayla Danielle Pedersen (born April 14 1989) is an American basketball player with the Connecticut Sun of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was selected 7th overall during the 2010 WNBA Draft. She was picked as a player for 2006’s State Farm Holiday Classic all-tournament as an incoming student at Red Mountain High School in Arizona. After graduating from high school, she attended Stanford University, where she enjoyed a very successful career. She has a brother that has a more youthful “Kyle Pedersen” who is an accomplished Science educator in Gilbert HighSchool.

Pedersen was a part of the USA Women’s U18 team that took home Gold in the FIBA Americas Championship in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The tournament took place in July of 2006, and the USA team beat Canada to be the champions. UConn continued to be a huge barrier to success for them, but Stanford finally beat them on December 30, 2010. However, they then went on to lose in the final four to Texas A&M. Pedersen has set Stanford’s career record in both games (150) and minutes played (4,762), and she is seventh in the all- time points list (1,941 points).
