Kikuno earned his first professional debut as a mixed martial artist during Japanese promo DEEP’s Future King Tournament 2005 defeating Hitoki Tsuti with a doctor’s stoppage as well as Masashi Takeda through knockout.
Kikuno was signed to the DREAM promotion following his victory as the DEEP Lightweight Champion. He was able to make his debut in the ring in the ring against Andre Dida at Dream 10 on the 20th of July, 2009. Kikuno defeated Dida with a flurry of punchesand took home an impressive victory in his DREAM debut.
